Going on a Camping Trip {and reasons why you should go too!}

Camping is one of those things where people either love it, or they hate it. I think it all depends on what they grew up doing with their family.

I grew up going camping. Camping trips were considered mini vacations, and we would often go with my closest cousin's family, so there was much excitement about it!

Recently I had been dying to go camping for the first time this summer. Then, I discovered the "outdoors" section on Pinterest, which made it that much worse! I started a new board called I'm a Happy Camper! and have been pinning pictures of cute vintage campers like crazy! You should definitely check out how cute they are.

Then, this last weekend I finally got to go and satisfy a bit of my outdoor craving. I wasn't in a cute vintage caravan...just a tent, but it was still so fun.

We were camping on the Holcombe Flowage and our campsite even had it's own dock!

I am ready to go back out again!

I've thought of a list of reasons why camping is so lovable to me and why it's such a good idea to go.

Hope all those wonderful things inspire you to go camping this summer!!

Blessings,
Olivia

  1. It is very picturesque, and it looks like you had fun! I grew up camping. My parents had a trailer. When my spouse and I first got married we actually went a lot, but then we went to Victoria, and Vancouver. It was so cold and wet, the tent flooded, and we could not get a hotel room because it was BC weekend. We slept in the car. The important thing is that I remember that vacation, and there are many that I have forgotten. xoxo

  2. You know who loves this post, right? Me! Even though I haven't been camping since I was like ten. I love your pictures and the mood created here. I definitely think I will give camping a try when my kids are a little bit bigger (and sleeping through the night for sure...lol!)

  3. I grew up camping and love it, but (and it is a big BUT!) my family invited my husband-to-be along for a trip to the beach. He was appalled at walking to the bathhouse, no TV, and eating outside. He refused to ever go again. Yes, I still married him and for the last 34 years have yearned to camp. I am glad you are having a great time. I am checking out your Pinterest Board!
